Road To Nowhere
After a very long winter filled with couch time, knitting, and Netflix, this spring I have been doing anything I can to get outside and enjoy the sunshine. A few weeks ago me and the Man decided to get off the couch and hit the road.
The original plan was to drive about an hour out of town to Chena Hot Springs and soak in the sun in the water. We packed up the cooler and swimsuits and away we went stopping along the way to take a ton of pictures.
At about the half way mark, my Man asks me if I've remembered the free passes to the Hot Springs.
OOPS!!!!! Yep, I forgot the tickets that would save us $30. Oh well, we were having a wonderful time enjoying the drive with wonderful Alaskan scenery. So we decided to keep driving anyways. And keep stopping for pictures and snacks.
Pickle Pit Stop and more pics.
We even ran into a moose along the way.
About 10 miles before what WAS going to be our destination we stopped again.
Haha, just kidding no drinking and driving here. Look, the cap was still on.
We were having so much fun we decided to turn around and head another 100 miles in the opposite direction. Our new plan, ice cream out at The Knotty Shop in Salcha. Can we make it there before they close?
We sure did, with about 15 minutes to spare.
Had fun out in their yard posing with all the animals made out of knotty pine.
Oh, those pesky mosquitos!
And finally, at the end of the day, with no more driving to do, I got to enjoy a good beer. What a great day and a great way to end it. Even though it wasn't what we planned, we enjoyed the heck out of a beautiful Alaskan day and eachother. Cheers!
